In the first half of 2021, the seaborne cargo throughput of Hamburg Port generally shows a positive development trend.The seaborne container throughput of Hamburg Port and its largest trading partner China increased by 14.2% (year-on-year, the same below), reaching 1.3 million TEUs.


It is reported that the processing speed of ordinary goods and bulk goods in Hamburg Port accelerated significantly in the second quarter. In the first six months, the total throughput of seaborne goods reached 63.5 million tons, an increase of 3.8%. Container throughput increased by 5.5% to 4.3 million TEU (20 foot standard container). After a slow start in the first two months, the container throughput increased rapidly in March and the second quarter. The handling capacity of bulk cargo was 19.3 million tons, while maintaining the positive momentum of continuous development, achieving an increase of 3.3%.
